FIA Girls On Track - Dare To Be Different - Formula E, Berlin

Introduction

The FIA Women in Motorsport Commission has teamed up with Susie Wolff and Dare to be Different to pilot an exciting new educational programme for girls aged between 8 and 18 years old. The first FIA Girls on Track - Dare to be Different event, took place in February at the E-Prix of Mexico City, the fourth race of the ABB FIA Formula E Championship 2018/19. The programme aims to inspire with entertaining educational activities.

Practical STEM activities (science, technology, engineering and mathematics), media training, FIA Action for Road Safety and Environment awareness as well as karting and training in a modern simulator are designed to inspire young girls and showcase the many opportunities available to them in the motor sport industry or in other "male-dominated" professions.

"To dare to be different requires a lot of courage. But it opened ways for me that I had never dreamed of. When I look at my own career, I started in the kart, was a DTM and Formula One test driver, and today I am the team principal and shareholder of the Venturi Formula E team. Change is possible."

Susie Wolff – Founder „Dare to be Different“, former DTM- and Formula 1 test driver and current Team Principal of the Formula E Venturi Team.
